A friend after cluing into my media geekness:
[00:37] jimbyc: that sounds not bad, you want a quick cheap lol though, google who's on first sheakespeare
[00:37] jimbyc: any skit with the line " how base these ballers be?" in it is a good one in my book lol
[00:38] CommanderTeddog: Wayne and Shuster, right? :D
[00:38] jimbyc: i believe so
[00:38] jimbyc: figures, if its out there you know it ;-p
It's sad that I'm decent at Canadian comedy but I'm a bit of a FAIL! when it comes to fandom.

I just realized that I haven't updated in a while, which is kinda odd in it's own special way. I've had a busy weekend.
Went out on Friday at lunch with
pyat, ended up hitting up Future Shop and BMV. Pyat got to see how annoying I can be to shop with! Walked out with Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers (Red Dwarf bok I've been meaning to read), The Glass Teat (a collection of Harlan Ellison's essays from the Los Angeles Free Press) and a collection of Michael Moorcock stories who's title has poofed outta my brain at the moment. We had lunch at this Lebanese place in the strange Toronto Life Square. They had good falafel, hummus and tabbouleh, but not much else of note. It makes me miss the Armenian Kitchen, up by the Science Centre, which was pretty awesome. Better than food court food. ;)
There is, though, a anime model/figure shop in the mall. Most of the figures looked to be at least 6 months old, since they had the Yuki figma, but nothing from later in the Haruhi line. (And
urufudo? They had it for $43, if you're still looking for it). Lots of Revoltech figures, though.
Friday night, I did end up going out to Hamilton, much against the will of my nerves. I think I'm better for it, although nowhere close to how I felt about it before 2007. It is what it is. Also, baby showers are so... so... I don't know the word for it. I understand the need to have one with friends, but I can't help but wonder how I'd had handle something like that. I'd be really uncomfortable with people who were mostly strangers giving me presents. o_O
Saturday included a misadventure to Mimico with a camera. The recount of this will have to wait until tomorrow, as I'm still sorting out photos. There's a ton. Interesting note - I can recall a lot of Mimico from my childhood, including one of the parks I visited. We had a station wagon break down there, in the early 1990s. I remembered the park sign quite clearly. Blast from the past and a little freaked out that
slwatson picked out that place from orbit.
And today was a lazy day spent around the apartment. I'm still poking at Warcraft, although not with the zeal I had before. It's frustrating again, so I'm going to step away for a while. My paladin is now 60 (lol, crap gear), so I finally got together everything to do Judgment and Redemption. That quest line is kinda interesting (if goofy) and I enjoyed running it, but some of the items you need to buy are frustrating to get a hold of. When I had access to the Trade channel later in the evening, I got to see some crying about it. Yeah... the fight itself isn't that stressful now. I'd be willing to bet that the warlock and druid quests are worse, as they include the element of "Keep the objects running", while the paladin one is simply outlasting the event.
And now.... work in the morning. CRAP.
