Bell and Telus are going to start charging 15 cents for received text messages starting in August. No only is this going to suck if you have talkitive friends, but imagine the problems with spam. Yeah, they claim you'll be refunded if it's spam, but imagine the headaches getting it reversed. Bell's customer service is a headache. As my sister noted, the higher up you get in the customer service chain, the better the English gets.

The inflated costs of having a cellphone in Canada are just not worth it to me. I know this pisses of a lot of my friends, but really... it's too much of a headache.

And this isn't even touch the whole iPhone mess with Rogers.

I have no idea how you parents handle them, but my hat goes off to you. I would cry and curl up in a little ball at those prices.

Looking back, I suppose that it's always been that way. When I was a little brat (1983/1984), my father had to take up a part time job delivering prescriptions in order to afford to buy diapers. Eventually, when I was about two or three, he let me come along on his route and we'd get tips from nice old people. I also got to see the vault were they stored drugs like morphine, however, it never dawned on my what it was at that time. I just thought of it as a silly metal room that had a desk in it for some reason.
