Good News/Bad News Time!
Feb. 4th, 2008 11:14 pmBad News: I slept wrong and twisted my back, causing shooting pains from the small of my back up to my jaw. This caused the following to really wear me out faster than normal.
Good News: I've discovered the root of my computer problems...
Bad News: I am the proud owner of a failing hard drive.
Good News: Said hard drive is stable enough that I can work on it, but I have to be wary of how long I use it.
Bad News: Bills from last month left me with $18 at the end of the month
Good News: Buuuuut many of those bills were clearing off my one credit card (very low limit, I don't like debt), so I had space to buy replacement parts.
Bad News: This meant dragging my aching body across the city.
Good News: I got a replacement hard drive and an external hard drive so that I could use it now for backups and later for video work.
Bad News: I misplaced my System Restore discs.
Good News: I found them and then started backing up my hard drive.
Bad News: THE STUPID EXTERNAL DRIVE FAILED AFTER ONE HOUR OF USE. It randomly bricked while I was copying over a Prisoners of Gravity clip. Serious.
Now I have:
1 - Laptop with a slowly dying hard drive.
1 - Replacement hard drive collecting dust.
1 - Brick of an external drive that is so going back to the store tomorrow.
1 - Still tender back.
I need a hug.
