Snoooooooooooooooooow
Feb. 1st, 2008 01:20 pmStuck at home, discovered that I need milk... and ice cream. This later one is very important! I will go through a storm to get it! Really, I didn't grab it last night because I knew I wouldn't need those until the weekend and my grocery load was heavy enough as is. I think I also need eggs or failing that, more waffles. To the store!
I'm getting really, really tired of security deposits. My hydro bill came in - $30 for power, great! $100 in deposits and set-up fees... not so great. They didn't even offer me the chance to provide a credit check.
I get why security deposits are important, but it's just really annoying. Thankfully, I budget like no tomorrow, so no harm, no foul there. It just seems to be like a punishment for attempting to live on my own. And the public wonders why young people don't want to move out on their own. Have you seen the fees involved? HA!
On a completely random aside, has anyone else felt the urge to just buy Valentine's gifts for themselves? I mean, there's some darn nice chocolate there! Why should I have to go without overpriced candy because I dare to be single? A lot of the products are just trash - the oversized red-and-white plushies, bound eventually for garbage dump - but the chocolate is good. Yes, it's feeding the machine, but there's just something dorky and thus enjoyable about chocolates wrapped in red foil. It's like going back to grade school, where everyone got something.
It's also comparable to Easter candy. I live on my own, no bunny dares step into my apartment, but darn it if I can't help but buy some of that candy. Easter's slightly different, though. Valentine's candy is pretty much the same as normal chocolate, but Easter has Mini Eggs and Creme Eggs! And Caramilk Eggs! And those discontinued Peanut Butter Eggs I loved so much.
On second thought, it might not be the best time to go to the store. D:
