teddog: (It's Too Early)
This one completely slipped by me. It's not my fandom, but close enough.

History Bites First Collection

Brought to us by the good people at Morningstar. They release a lot of the CBC DVDs.

Our cat finally came home.

His name is Midnight. We got him about 2 months after my father died, which is a strange time to get a cat, but he was a strange cat. Looked black at first glance, but was really a dark brown. Had this really annoying, chattering meow that he'd use for attention. Bonded with the dog, of all things.

A couple of months ago, he flat out disappeared. He had been a little twitchy beforehand, so of course I wondered if he was sick or not. I didn't get a chance to take him to a vet and so feared the worst.

Weeks passed by. No sign of the cat. At this point, I was trying to move on. Besides, we had lost Sneakers in the same way. It was possible that could have happened again.

Well, this morning I wake up and mom says to me "Midight's on the front porch". Naturally, I went to check it out.

I opened the front door and on the porch railing, across from me, was our silly, non-quite black cat, completely in one piece. He looked at me, gave off a meow that seemed so much more kittenish than before and gladly hopped inside. Slightly thinner than before, but still Midi. The first thing he did? Face plant into the cat food bowl.

Yes, our lovable but dumb cat is no longer missing. At least the dog seems happy with it. 0_0

The CNE starts today!

"I want a funnel cake and a corn dog! And some Tiny Tims!"

It's funny when it come from a 50-something coworker. He was also singing the jingle from the TV ads.

Sadly, I think the CNE is too out of the way for lunchhour adventures. We're near there, but not close enough. That way lies madness and tiny, freshly made donuts.

I was on the bus coming in today and had to watch the CNE go by. I swear, it's the same booths there that were there when I was a kid. Makes me sad I'm stuck in the office all day when it's such a nice day out. :(

IT'S ONLY 11! AAAAURGH!

EDIT: It appears that the CBC Shop FINALLY shipped my t-shirt. I ordered that sucker last month! It's the Picture Trouble is Temporary shirt. I've wanted it for a while (it's delightfully retro and dorky in the same way I am) and never got around to buying it. Maybe I'll have it for next weekend. :P

I'm having a freaking lucky day today. EVERYONE! WE'RE GOING TO STRATHOLME! At this rate, the Baron's mount will drop. Heck, bring Ilua too. It'll be fun.

I'm beginning to wonder if I should pick up a lottery ticket.

Things to Do this Weekend

- Rewire a DVD recorder.
- Run an "Alt Night" on Warcraft.
- Try to run at least The Arcatraz for my Kara key piece and The Botanica for my alchemy spec on my main.
- Get a hair cut.
- Actually pick up my Fan Expo ticket. Stupid online ordering...
- Sleep, at some point.
- Clean up some outstanding issues with Signal Loss content.
- Upload some new Signal Loss content.
- Maybe get my butt in gear and upload a new PoG episode up.
- Again, big maybe but think of a way to tie the video uploads with the main site.
- Download Yuki Saitō clips for Jen's partly insane presentation on Sunday.
- Generate a prompt for [livejournal.com profile] fic_simplicity.
- Buy bus tickets.
- Pick up some new t-shirts.

And they call it the weekend!

Getting a head start on my key is REALLY IMPORTANT. Kate and Mike are now keyed and last night, I was invited to go on a Kara raid by a priest who was impressed with my trapping and was extremely shocked when I mentioned that I wasn't keyed and hadn't raided yet.
