teddog: (OMFG! Explodes!)
Someone on a mailing list I'm a part of got a hold of this.

It's so rare that rips of the album haven't existed until now. Doubt that the music holds up as well as it did in the early 1980s, but it's such a curiosity that I had to download it.

And this isn't a series soundtrack, but the soundtrack to the first two specials. 0_0

I cannot be the only one baffled that Hillary Clinton's campaign song is "You and I" by Céline Dion. While I'm not sure what connotations the song has in the states, up here the relation is generally "Not that stupid Air Canada song again!"

Which begs the question, if a song has been used in a major ad campaign, can it ever stand on it's own merits or will the public always have that original ad forever burned into their memory? In this case, the song was used in a very instense campaign and it was very hard to avoid, even if it was in a nearby country.

I want to see how this goes down. It's concerning the new passport laws. Americans entering the US are going to have much more relaxed rules at their border and probably at our border, as we'll probably be expected to allow Americans into our country on weaker documents.

However, Canadians will still need passports to enter the US in six months, because we're supposably a bigger risk. Uh huh. Should I note that American terrorists have entered our country and commited crimes before? It goes both ways.

As for the "card" situtation, my province was considering a combo driver's licence and passport card, but the idea was probably shot down because nothing has been mentioned about it in a long while. :(

I'm already treated like a criminal when I cross the border; the last time I crossed into New York state, we were cross-examined on the fine details of our plans for the day. I'm fine with the border guard asking me what my business in the country is, but this guy wanted to know EXACT details of what stores and malls we wanted to visit and why.

I have issues with the US government, much like how I really hate my own government (I KNOW I didn't vote, but it wasn't for lack of trying. There was an error in the paperwork). I like American people on a whole, although I do disagree with some culture aspects, but then I doubt many Americans agree with poutine, nanaimo bars and our over consumption of donuts, eh?

However, this situtation is really going to put stress on crossborder relations where the governments are already pushing this to the limit.

I've been talking with a few people online, bouncing off ideas and such, and it looks like I'm going to be heading a new fan-run project over the summer.

Can't leak what it is yetut I'm going to be working on it as soon as I get home. The idea makes me downright giddy. All I'll mention is that it is Prisoners of Gravity related and it's something that I've wanted to do for a long time. It's only funny fan stuff, so don't be expecting me to suddenly be on some official project. HA! I wish.

The announcement should be up tomorrow, as it's a "through the summer thing". Provided that I can borrow Kate's scanner and if I can get a name for the project tonight.
