teddog: (My Relatives Must Be Punished)
So, I leave my computer unpassworded so Spencer can place WoW on it.

Only to find out that my little dickwad of a brother James has somehow downloaded the mother of all viruses onto it. The link was apparently sent to him by some stupid assed church member who thought it would be an awesome prank. So, the blasted thing is sitting beside me and getting the shit scanned out of it and it looks like I'm not going to be getting much sleep tonight.

THAT IS IT. I HAVE HAD IT WITH THIS HOUSEHOLD. I have had it with family members who expect respect and than never give it back. I have had it with the lack of privacy and the general stupidity. And I am sick of "Rach, this isn't working. Please fix it!" when I get no support back.

I NEED TO GET OUT OF HERE.

If anyone can get into AIM, I'm on as commanderteddog. I could really use someone to talk to right now.

Everytime I say "I think it's fixed", something else happens....

It's been going on 30 minutes now since the last fix...

And it's 3:30 am...

Damn.

::sighs::

teddog: (It's Too Early)
After all of the hunting and search last night, there still appeared to be at least one browser hijacker on my computer. It crashes my browsers whenever I attempt to search for anti-spyware programs.

I've mentioned this to the IT guy at work and he suggested that I wipe my hard drive completely and start from scratch, given that we can't know for sure exactly what's on that computer. Of course, the problem is locating the discs for all of my programs and backing up the important docs I have. There's a whackload of research for projects on there, among other things.

Thankfully, most of my software is freeware - I use Open Office, Trillian, Audiocity, all of which can be easily replaced. The programs that came with my computer should be stashed in my room. Finding my Photoshop discs is a bit more of a problem, although I have Elements on hand for any work I want to do right away. Buying CS3 is now pretty much completely out of the question, as I do not have $2000 to blow on software.

This just means an extremely long night up ahead for me, assuming that I can do a full disc round up.
