Mar. 7th, 2007 12:09 pmNote to self: Yes, fruit smoothies are wonderful and refreshing - IN THE SUMMER. Not when it's -15 outside. This goes double for slushies.
I need to be less surprised when they don't taste as good when I'm freezing my butt off.
Today isn't as bad. Yesterday, though, was insanly cold. I haven't felt it that cold since Thunder Bay. The habour froze over at some point, but I think it's slowly melting again.
Getting the hang of working commuting into my life is coming along. Yesterday worked out pretty well - I got home around 7:00pm, managed to watch the Colbert Report, eventually played WoW for a while and went to bed. Other than Colbert, Rick Mercer and the odd rerun of something, I really don't watch much TV.
There is a problem with me eating that late, but it's a odd physical relation I get. If I'm really hungry, really cold and a touch worn out, I get these shakes. I don't know what they are or what causes them, but they're nasty, although eating something seems to lift them. I had them last night, but I didn't want to snack on something on the train for some reason. I probably should have.
I got my hands on the second Phoenix Wright game. Not quite sure what to think of it, yet. The first story seems to be designed for people who didn't play the first game - the plot starts you off with no knowledge of the characters or events that took place before the first game and you have to learn Phoenix slowly relearn them, all while in court. Fun! :) The problem is that some of the jokes at the end of the case require you to know that happened in the last game. Given that the original game is such a pain to find, there's a bit of a problem.
I'm right now on case two, which introduces the Psyche-Locks and some new characters to the series. I liked Pearl more than I expected. While she's sorta the token "cute kid", she isn't at the same time. She often acts and thinks more mature than the adult characters, although her logic suffers from her upbringing. As for Franziska, I haven't made up my mind yet. I haven't really noticed the OOC problems that the translation apparently caused early in the game. I mean, the first case was supposed to be odd, right? Anyone?
