http://bluegill-murloc.livejournal.com/ - Apparently, this guy was on Nexus. That's just plain awesome.

I am failing at locating Murloc loot for Christmas giving, though. Bliz's store is down and they're the only ones that appear to carry the shirt and keychain. That said, these pins are cute.

Frantics!

I haven't posted some Frantics related files in a while, so...

Today I bring you Gary and Ivan's Winabego Tour, a CBC summer series from 1990.

The Frantics related series that mix skits and music seem to be lost to time. Anyone try searching for "Frantic Nighttimes"? While complete episodes of Nighttimes don't appear to exist in the fan community, four episodes of Gary and Ivan's Winabego Tour can be found. The series features two guys, played by Peter Wildman and Rick Green, searching for Canada and failing repeatedly. The skits are intercut with music selected by Wildman and Green and some of the songs are pretty out there.

Gas Station Rip-Off
The Pestler Family Reunion
Fort Louis by the Shrubs (note: crappier than normal quality)
Oblate Flats Street Festival

Some notes:
- The Meech Lake Accord failed the same summer that this series was produced. This is why Ivan often mentions Canada failing apart.
- Try as I might, I can't find a proper order for the episodes. I took a guess at the order from the references in the episodes. All I really know is the Street Festival has to come last.
- I've found humour here is very comparable to Fran of the Fundy and Prisoners of Gravity in that it can be goofy and silly, yet bittersweet at moments. When our heroes finally do discover what it means to be Canadian, it's through a series of pretty morbid events.
- The series features Bill From Bala as a recurring character. I believe this is the first time he's called Bill Smith, the name the character goes by in The Red Green Show.
