teddog: (Pirate Broadcaster!)
I've been singing "All I Need is a Miracle" on and off all day. It must be driving people insane.

I want to share the love, but not fry the server that I located these files on. So, I'll fry my own.

This LJ is proud to present... Those People Across The Street.

Rick Gray is a high strung chemistry teacher who's tried to create an ideal life for his family. Peter Wilson is laid back taxi driver living with his common law wife and her three kids from earlier relationships. They live across the street from each other, sharing the neighborhood with a range of odd characters, some goofy and others just plain creepy.

The series is best described as a sitcom, but despite the somewhat familiar plots, it manages to be much more entertaining than your usual sitcom dribble and manages to be even touching in its own silly way at times. I don't think this is related to the slightly later series "Growing Up and Having Babies", even though the two shows have theme tunes that are almost exactly the same.

Episode 1: The Freezer
Peter fails to sell his freezer at a yard sale, so Rick buys it off of him. However, Peter fails to inform Rick that the freezer has a history behind it.

Episode 2: Death by Weed-Whacker
Rick goes to get his weed-whacker back from "Dave down the street" and discovers Dave's dead body behind the garage.

Episode 3: Somebody's Having a Baby
Linda Gary is late. The pregnancy test only works first thing in the morning, which is a long day away.

Episode 4: The Robbery
The Wilsons and the Grays are robbed on the same night. The police can't do anything about it, so Peter and Rick take matters into their own hands.

Episode 5: No Pain, No Gain
After finding Dave dead of a heart attack several episodes back, Rick goes on a fitness kick and attempts to show the rest of the main cast the error of their ways.

Episode 6: Peter's Number Comes Up
Peter's number comes up in the Lotto 649 draw and he goes on a hunt to locate the missing ticket.
teddog: (We can't stop here!)
A while back I commented that someone sent me a comment about how they got Ty Templeton to draw them a picture of Commander Rick back at Comic Book Expo. He's posted it for the rest of us to see:

It's not done in quite the same style as the opening art, but remember that was drawn back in the 1980s and this was drawn earlier this month. It looks a lot like a little picture that Steff ([livejournal.com profile] slwatson) drew back this winter, which might mean that Steff and Ty are the same person. Oh noes!

While that is highly unlikely, it really would point to a massive multiverse leak of the size that's unimaginable. I mean, first we have Mike Riffing Scott coming out this week, leading to THIS! It's not Mike with a visor, but it sure is a Wolverine with a Mike head and Bill Corbett (who played Sci-Fi Channel era Crow and the Observer) as Nightcrawler.

How the heck did this all happen? It's like someone left the backdoor open or someone has seriously discovered our inside joke. The latter wouldn't surprise me because there's a fair amount of fic kicking around at the moment, but that was all out of context!

Oh. And the original Ti Kwan Leap skit? Very, very odd. I've heard the version from the Boot To The Head album more than enough, but the version that's in the radio show ends with Ed taking over the class!
