Aug. 22nd, 2006 12:37 pmDespite the numberous headaches that I've gotten from it, my copy of Animaniacs Volumn 1 arrived today. I'm slightly impressed that it did. I had free shipping on it, but it arrived the date it was supposed to be released instead of several days later.
The final word on what happened to the Canadian release was that there was a manufacturing error at some point back in July and the sets to be sold here didn't exist on the US release date. If that's true or not, I don't know. Rumours were floating that the DVDs were delayed for a French dub or to add French to the packaging, but neither happened. Even with the date shoved back repeatedly, it finally came out. Whoo.
I haven't watched any of it yet, since I'm going to go down and watch it with my siblings, but the show will probably still hold up well. YTV reran the show back in 2002/2003, late on Friday nights. It was well worth staying up to watch then and three years isn't going to change much.
The content has a big "PG" sticker on the back. Oh noes, kids from generation were subjected to nasty TV shows that corrupted them. D:
My only grief thus far is the packaging. It's a digipak (cardboard pack that folds out), but the slip case is really, really tight. It looks very pretty, but pulling out the DVD case takes a fair amount of effort. Hopefully the case just needs to be broken in; the box on my Red Green Stuffed and Mounted set was tight at first too, but got better.
