I did somethin'!
Feb. 12th, 2006 10:45 pmEnded up going out yesterday.
Met up with Laura at the Eglinton station and we went up to J-Town, this Japanese bazaar-type place in the Northeast end of north. Nothing really exciting to talk about there. Except across the road, where there was this Tim Hortons sign in the middle of nowhere! If it was for an office or a donut store, I don't know, because there was nothing there. Poor, little lost Tim Hortons sign. I want to keep it as a pet.
After that was the first comic run in ages. We visited the World's Biggest Bookstore, where I picked up Fullmetal Alchemist 5 and Monster 1. Monster was out on the floor early; the street date isn't until the 21st. They had free cake there! It was so freaky, just cake sitting out in the open, no sign or anything. Then we went to the Silver Snail...
...OMG.
First off, Ty Tempton was there. As in "Ty who drew the opening art for Prisoners of Gravity". And then I found mail for Mark Askwith, one of the PoG creators. HOLY CRAP! I should have asked Ty for a doodle or something, but I was waaaay too shocked and shy. It was so sudden. ::sniffle::
Oh, and I picked up Bone 3 (release them faster!) there along with one of these figures. Yay! Chibi gallery. So cute! I got the penguin one first, so we decided to give that to Steve and Laura brought me a new box. It turned out to be the sea otter. She got chickens and all was happy.
The special seasonal winter chocolate pocky tastes like the grains at the bottom of hot chocolate, only not as gross. There's another snackable item to remember.
