Aug. 2nd, 2005 04:53 pmPassenger jet on fire at Toronto airport
This is unnerving. NOTHING happens at Pearson and nobody is 100% sure what's going on.
OMG. They've comfirmed it's a crash on the radio.
Update:
It's an Air France plane. Earlier it was believed that it was Lufthansa.
The crash is on the side of the 401. Do you realize how BAD it would have been if it crashed on the highway? It's unsettling that the crash is so close. Look that the pictures.
I used to live just North of Pearson and use the airport while travelling to and from Thunder Bay. This is too close to home. ;_;

Results of the crash:
24 people with minor injuries.
No fatalities.
That's so awesome. :D
The early CNN coverage pissed me off. The announcer was trying to get a passenger to say that the service provided by Pearson potentially put the passengers in danger. WTF? If people were killed I could see people asking questions, but they all lived! Why are we trying to find fault? Celebrate the fact we all got lucky. Yes, "we all". This could have been a lot worse in many ways for southern Ontario. But, it's not. Tim Hortons for all!
