I NOW OFFICALLY LIKE HELLSING.
I had been seen the first two episodes and said, "It's okay, but I've seen this all in horror movies before." Then I saw episode 3 and I now have a completely different view of the series. Dude, if they had just made it to Sword Dancer last time I saw the series, I could have had some fun. Now I'm going to have to wait two months until I can watch Katie's DVDs. ;_;
It was probably Alexander Anderson that changed my mind. If the rest of the Iscariot Organization is anything like him, I'm really going to this series.
Anderson is so freakin' insane. He reminds me of some protesters I've had to deal with in the past, strangly enough. o_O Now a Hellsing styled fight between Mormons and the Vatican, that I'd pay to watch. Just give Katiers a big gun and she can be Seras Victoria. She already pretty much looks the part already. [/selfmocking]
Katie got me into the manga when they introduced a massive plot twist later on, but I never really got into the earlier plotlines. I've heard that the anime isn't that good because it nixes the later conspiracies from the manga, but religious infighting should prove entertainment enough.
Also: Why are the guys at LUM watching Angelic Layer? There's nothing scarer than a pack of fanboys demanding to watch a girlie kid's show! I only made it through the one episode I saw because of Icchan. He be cool and the only reason to watch the series, but that's like reading Playboy for the articles.
