For the most part, I'm called Rachellie. And the lot of us are going on a long bus ride to Hill City on Thursday.
I downloaded the FMTowns version of the Zak McKracken soundtrack. The opening theme is the most wicked thing I've heard in a while, if only for the slightly egyptian-ish part. If you know the plot to the game, you'll know why that's SO DARN COOL! The rest of the soundtrack has this creepy, epic feel to it. It's so... *drools* After midterms I'm going to dig up my cracked copy of the FMTowns release and see if I can replace the audio files. Then play the game through again with proper audio.
Speaking of which, This is the original recorded version of the theme. One of the co-designers of the game was a musician. I wonder if there's a version of the Maniac Mansion theme like that....
Zak's such an underrated LucasArts character. Sure, his character is like Bernard or Guybrush - slightly geeky without a clue - but he's got this sleazy side to him too that he's trying to redeem himself of. Plus his female friend, Annie, kicks more butt than Lara Croft. But it's not like we'll ever see a Zak title again. ;_;
