I mean... URGH!

THE RED GREEN SHOW SEASON PREMIER IS ON THE DAY AFTER MY BIRTHDAY. Hindsight is 20/20 airs one week earier. Watching these is a NEED, not a want.

In many fans, I am a sad fangirl to this series. It's side effect of, well, many things. My late father was a fan since the Smith and Smith days, when Red Green just a minior character. He got me into the Red Green Show back in season one. How many online fans have been around that long? Most of them smarten up and get out. I did leave the fandom at one point, around season 9, but I came back for season 13.

I don't want to say it's a big part of my personal life, because it really isn't, other than Rick Green being one of my few heroes. I just really enjoy watching the series. In my troubled life, Red Green is just one of those things that's always there. During the rough times of the school year, I made time to watch the 6:30 pm reruns on Comedy Network. Can-Con comfort food for a stressed college student.

Problem is Shaw Cable. Shaw used to have a deal where college and university students could get full standard cable for $20 a month. It was a pretty nice deal and everyone was happy.

This year they jacked the price to $40.

JP already cracked and ordered the cable for the increased rate. If I get cable, it'll cost $320 over the school year, as opposed to $160.

This made me sit down and wonder... "What do I really watch on TV, anyway?"

I watch the Simpsons, like everyone else it seems. The series has been sucking for years, but it's like a crash on the highway. You can't help but slow down and look.

Friday nights on the CBC. Air Farce, 22 Minutes, Red Green. All past their prime, but what the heck.

Red Green reruns on Comedy and CBC. Because I can.

Mythbusters. If only Discovery can WTF they're doing with the series. Apparently it's on Sundays at 10 this year.

It also turns out my roomie is a fan of the Inuyasha dub and wants to get the Friday anime lineup on YTV. o_O

That's not a lot of TV. Most of my favorite shows (MST3K, PoG, OBC) aren't aired in the surrounding area. Is it really worth $40 a month?

I've got to think about this some more.

First, they tell me my dad died of a heart attack.

Then, they tell me that it was an enlarged heart and bad heart beat.

This was caused by Aldosteronoma (Conn's).

Now they say that he had thyroid cancer and this may have added to the mess.

MAKE UP YOUR MINDS PEOPLE!

As I told Jen, this don't add up. If dad was being scanned and treated for Aldosteronoma, why didn't anyone notice that something was wrong with the thyroid? He had a family history of thyroid problems. He had skin cancer about 7 or so years ago. Maybe that should have tipped someone off...?

And the lovely doctors didn't test him for the RET gene or at least, didn't inform us about it. Damn, I'd like to know if I'm at risk for cancer too. I'll probably have to miss a year of college, but if I need to I'd rip out my own thyroid gland to prevent it from happening to me.

If it has to come out, that means more money spent every month on drugs so I don't drop dead. As if my current bill of $100 isn't enough.

I really wish school would start soon, so I'll have something to focus on. I'll also going to kill that redheaded third year student. WTF is his problem?
