Age Issues
May. 8th, 2003 10:46 pmI was talking to mom in the car today and she told me something important: I'm only 19.
I tend to forget that when I look at my work and my failings in life and think "I suck". Blah! I'm still a teenager (barely)! Who gives a pooh if I hold a sucky job and have no "special person". Most of my heroes didn't start doing great things until they were much older. Rick Green (my idol!) didn't start comedy full time until he met up with the rest of the Frantics and that wasn't until he was around 26. Everyone else I look up to in art and writing and junk didn't get their break until their mid 20s, if not older.
And I'm only 19. Daaaaamn I'm young.
There's some people who claim that age means shit in the long run. I'm starting to differ. Things improve with age. Everything I do now is training for whatever I do later in life. People aren't going to care much about my fan art and fic in the future, but I can learn from it and amuse some people along the way.
