I found out why Jean the computer has been so cranky as of late. Turns out his sound prefs had a bad data fork in them. ::pats the monitor:: I used Norton to clean it and he's running just fine now. Never been better.

It makes me want to run Norton through Mikey and see if that helps.

The other computers are... okay, I think. Cecil is missing his connection cable to HotSync. Smith is as good as an old Mac laptop can be. Michelle is fine. Mikey is Mikey. Speedbump is dead.

Jen downloaded something fierce onto Speedbump and it ripped up his insides bad. The thing won't respond at all.

Oh... in case you're wondering, yep, my family names our computers.

Jean (my comp) was named after Brother John from the Genesis ablum The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Jean is French for John.
Cecil (my Palm) was named after himself. He's a Wordpad C3.
Smith (aging laptop) was named after Doctor Smith from Lost in Space
Mikey (Katie's comp) was named after... I can't remember. I used to say "Mikey likes it!" when he loaded a site fast. Maybe that was it.
Speedbump (Jen's old comp) was named after the message printed on it's motherboard.
Michelle (Dad's comp) was named after a Sailor Moon character.
