Mar. 21st, 2002 08:10 pmI got my rest of my bookies today. Yay for me!
I'm studing the role of computers in science fiction verses the role they play in the real world for my Computers and Problem Solving ISU. The teacher said we could study anything we wanted, as long as it related to computers. Most of the people in my class are studing stuff like the role of computers in the medical field and the effect of computers on children. Boring, everyday stuff. Meanwhile I'm going for something I know I'll enjoy the heck out of. Let's hear it for science fiction!
Currently I'm studing at eight different books as part of the ISU. My copies of Factoring Humanity, The Difference Engine, I, Robot, and Snow Crash are brand new and smell nice. I love the smell of new books. I'm pulling out my "well loved" (for lack of better words) copies of 2010, Hitch Hiker's Guide and Neuromancer. The latter one is in good shape, but the covers are falling off the other two, since I got them back when I was in grade 9. I need a copy of The Moon is a Harsh Mistress but I can't find one anywhere. Not even in The World's Biggest Bookstore! The school library has a copy, so I might borrow it off them.
I love my copy of Snow Crash. It's so big and shiny and nice and MINE! It cost me 20 dollars thought. But it's mine. All mine. ::hugs book::
