teddogToday I went out to Mac work out my student fees and test out my planned bus route and of course Jen had to come too. @_@ So far the best route seems to be taking the Barton out to McNab and transfer to the King A. The whole trip takes about an hour. The odd people all ride on the Barton, but it cleans up on the King A.
But anyway, after Aunt Bea and I finished the forms off, Jen and I went exploring in the new Student Centre. I found the food court, the Health Centre (which was closed today since the sewage was backed up 0_0 ), the games room (they have air hockey and pinball ::dances::) the copy centre, the student newspaper, and the radio station. Most of the places were closed up for the summer, but the guy at the games room was nice. Union Market and Compass were still being built and I couldn't find any sign of the new giant nightclub.
After that was done, I discovered a series of tunnels that connected the Student Centre to the Arts Quad. Down there we found the student bookstore, Titles. Turns out the McMaster is a big Mac school. Deeper in the Quad we found The Tank, an art store in the sub basement. Looked a lot like Deep 13. I am not kidding. Then Jen got tired, so we had to go home.

McMaster is reminding me of Walt Disney World! Because the school is tightly packed with all the buildings and there's little home to expand (to the north is a park, to the south there's a hospital, to the west is a highway and to the east is the suburbs), there's no room for many parking lots. The university is boxed in. So to solve the problem, the school built an overpass across the highway and placed the parking lots to the west of the highway. It's quite a distance from most of the school buildings, so a shuttle bus takes students from the lot to the school. If the buses were trams, I'd freak out!
