It's... um... ugh.
Aug. 16th, 2004 11:51 pmAll of the boxes in my room have hurled up their contains on the floor.
That's not a very nice mental picture, but my floor looks like that scene from This Island Earth when Cal and Joe have all the parts of the interociter sprawed on the bedroom floor. Only it's not interociter parts, but my own personal crap. Yay.
I give myself about a week to figure this all out. I didn't bring much with me to college, but after living up north for 8 months, you gain a fair amount of crap. And the worse part is that some of it is STILL up north - I put my winter coat and toaster oven and kitchen junk in storage for the summer. This is mostly my personal crap/computer/toys I'm sorting.
And speaking of computers, my keyboard finally died. It held on for a year and 3 months, but it just stopped working right. It had a problem where in the keyboard thought that the shift or control or command keys were stuck when they weren't. Usually the problem could be fixed by restarting the computer... but this time it wouldn't go away. I managed to swip mom's old one, so I'm back in business. It's annoying to look for old Mac keyboards on the market.
And I'm getting my new computer toy tomorrow. I've bought a few things for the new school year, like a Wacom tablet, but I'm excited about this one. I'm getting a USB watch, which I think is the coolest thing ever. I lost my normal watch around the time dad died and I need a USB storage unit, so it's a two-for-one. Hopefully the blasted thing will be in stock tomorrow like the store clerk said it would be.
I may name it, as I name most of my computer parts. Jesse told me it was odd that I've never named any of my computer toys "Nancy", although it's the name of my most favorite computer character ever (Me = hopeless computer fangirl). I dunno... I may name it Sal instead, for HAL's twin/sister or something like that.
