MST3K IS real, man. Best Brains Inc was set up as part of a testing project. You see, some people in are world are really SUPRA HUMANS. The gene that makes them SUPRA HUMANS also reacts to bad movies, resulting in the SUPRA HUMANS heckling the movies.

This gene was brought to the attention of the American government during what become known as the "Heaven's Gate Crisis" (the movie, not the cult). In 1988 testing on the "MST Project" began in rural Minnesota and a year later the project went country-wide.

The idea was to discover people who reacted to the show, codenamed "MiSTies" by researchers. To help track these fans, the government encouraged fans to write into the show and join a fan club, actually a large database of potential SUPRA HUMANS. The government would randomly test these people and, if they passed, used them in evil government projects, like designing those "DO NOT REMOVE" tags on mattresses.

Canadian researchers at the University of Toronto would discover this gene several years later, but not realize the connection between the gene and the SUPRA HUMANS. The American government caught wind of the Canadians' discovery. When the gene was to be announced on Canadian television, the program was mysteriously overwritten by a rerun of a pirate broadcast. Or so the story goes.

For a brief time in the late 1990s, the project went world-wide. The other countries soon caught on to what was happening and the airrings of the MST Project stopped.

New parts to the project were made until 1999 and reruns continued until 2004. At this point in time government cutbacks forced the MST Project to raise its own funds. This is why there is a sudden rise in the amount of upcoming DVD releases. The government now tracks the SUPRA HUMANS by using the "register your DVD" cards in MST3K DVDs.

(NOTE: This is all a joke. The fact that jokes related to the Project are still going on amuses me so.)
(SECOND NOTE: Rachie needs sleep.)
(THIRD NOTE: Jen wants to go mattress surfing.)
(FOURTH NOTE: Are me and Jen the only ones who found Sora's "fin" and Donald's "tentacles" in Kingdom Hearts more than a little pervy? So many dirty jokes came from that scene alone.)
