Today I reviewed a MST3K fic that used the character of Dr. F after he became a Star-Child. I went through and explained in the nicest way the idea of Star-Children and how according to the word of Clarke (great creator of the Space Odyssey series and in turn Star-Children), Dr. Forrester would be completely different from how the writer protrayed him. And what happened? I GET SLAMMED FOR TELLING OFF A "GOOD WRITER". I'm sick of people telling me that my thoughts are sh!t when they go against the grain.

"Not only write what you know, but also know what you what write."
Words to live by. If you don't know what a f***ing Star-Child is, research it! I bet this writer wouldn't know that the running 2001 jokes in MST3K if I ran up and hit s/he over the head with them. I've put tons of research into my crossover, which is why the bloody thing never gets written. I designed rough aspects of the SOL's communication system, blueprints for both satellites, and took notes in Physics class when we learned about satellites in Earth's potential well.

"Which leads to the question: 'How much science should there be in science fiction?'"
If the "science" of canon is created, FOLLOW IT. There's only one "Star Child" outside of the Space Odyssey series and it's a cheesy mormon musical. I don't recall Greene and Kestler hanging around in the world of MST3K.

"Roll our opening credits that we worked so hard on and obviously no one cares about."
I'm glad to know that there are other people in the world who give a damn about the details, like Nancy and SLWaston. Makes me feel better.

(All quotes from PoG, 'cause I'm bored and watching it right now, so there.)
