Wha?

Did anyone else see The National tonight?

There's something really unsettling about the way they handled the Chinese police in Scott Russell's fluff story. "Oh, we're going to try running in Beijing! Oh no, it appears that we've attracted the attention of the police! No worries, our guide helped us!"

Ummmm.

Okay, you got jumped by police because you were going on a run. Isn't that a little unsettling?! Furthermore, you push it off as a joke?! Oh, those wacky Beijing cops! What misadventures well they get into next?

Well, I'm baffled. His poor guide. Scott was making an ass of himself.

There's something metaphysically amusing about this post...

But I don't know what. ::grins::

Scott Russell's actions were more akin to Andy, though. I can't find a direct link to the clip to share (it's buried on the CBC site, though), but it opens with Scott in "storied Tiananmen Square" (that's one way to put it) as he gets ready for his run, stretching and joking about the march that the cops are doing. o_O

Edit: Or more like Corry, rather. Andy would mock in private and not risk having to deal with cops.
