It's too early for the stupid

I think fandom has reached an interesting turning point when Non-Yaoi is considered a "type" (genre?!) of fanfiction.

Isn't that just Gen?!

Wow. That's rather... WTF. The only reason I would think someone to label something "non-yaoi, gen" would be a general story with no mentions of same-sex relationships, even if the relationship is a canonical one.

Though I have no idea what Fullmetal Alchemist fandom is like, so I could be completely off the mark.

The pairing isn't canonical. Thus, my bafflement.

::groans:: Well, that is kinda anime for you. It's such an oddball subculture.

More like "anime with pretty boys who are there just to be eye candy".

Me, if I'm going to watch anime for "eye candy", I perfer snarky guys or, I dunno, NORMAL ADULTS. I can't understand what's so appealing about some whiney emo brat with the physical build of a 13 year old boy.

Or, I could always watch it for the plot.

Ah, men with body hair...

Well, there's that too. I'm also thinking men with complex thought processes.

I swear, that's what I was thinking.

But not flowery, delicate ones. Men with complex thought processes who are not afraid to use the term 'hard-on'.
