Just in from Blizzcon

The new World of Warcraft expansion - The Wrath of the Lich King - has been confirmed

*The dark, necromatic Death Knight - the first new character class added to World of Warcraft since its launch.
*Northrend, the harsh, icy continent where the Lich King holds rule, complete with new zones, quests, items and monsters.
*New level cap of 80 providing access to mighty new powers and talents
*New battlegrounds featuring siege engine warfare and destructable buildings
*Expanding character customisation options including new hairstyles & dances, the ability to change the hairstyles of existing characters, and new skin color variants.

NO MORE STRIPPER DANCE FOR FEL! YIPPIE!

Do we really need Death Knights, though? Hopefully they'll be tanks and EVERYONE will roll one, thus solving the tanking problem.

The death knight tanks via its undead dragon mount (Epic Flying of course) which it gets at level 20.

A plate warlock seems to be the general feeling. I think it as a place as being a the opposite to a Paladin while remaining different from dps casters. I want an army of skeletons! Don't forget Dark Mending.

I'm not huge on the cap increase. Maybe it will be another year which is fine for me. I don't want BC content to become irrelavant so quick since I missed the 60 endgame.

And Thran with the orc's dance? Finally he'll have no faults.

I want the female tauren dance!

Wow, why strain your eyes when Blizzard set up a web site a couple of days ago.

That was a 403 until this afternoon.

It suddenly occurred to me that Shattrath City will become a ghost town when the cap goes to 80. I mean you still have to grind from 60-70 to go to Northrend but otherwise the outlands will have no other purpose. No one will kill Zuluhed the Wack, or bother Kael'thas, Vash or Illidian. That makes me sad. Why can't they make all endgame material relevant.

And what about flying mounts? I didn't see anything flying on the preview video. So when we finally get our epic flying mounts will they be obsolete in a couple of months? Now I know how all those people felt when BC came out.

Flying mounts ARE going to be in WtoLK (or whatever we're calling it). The "Shattrath" of Northrend is going to be related to Dalaran and the Kirin Tor and will be accessed through flying.

There's a report from the con that says that there will NOT be anymore riding skills to buy in the current plans, but rather some other way to advance the skill.

Well that's good. What would be the next cost, 25k g for 375 riding skill.

Speaking of which this means professions will be now 450 max skill to increase with the cap. Weapon skills and others (like pick lock) will increase to 400.

I'm ready to go, but I'm herbal/alchemy, so that isn't TOO hard.

Kinda feel bad about the guys picking up the new profession, though. Also, apparently ALL races can become Death Knights once it's unlocked. Gnome, Draenei, Tauren... this seems WRONG.

Well you start a new character as a death knight once its unlocked and that character starts at level 55-70, or so says WoWwiki
