(no subject)

I checked my bank statement this morning and found and extra $115 in there.

Where the heck did that come from? The only thing I can think of is that being a quarterly GST check, but mine came in back in January. And it's not orphan's benefits, because those come in at the end of the month and are much higher. It can't be from the college either. Oooo.... MYSTERY (science theater) MONEY! Anyone want dinner on me?

Not that I'm complaining. $115 is $115 and that can go a long way. Although, I wonder where all this cash was last semester, back when I was nickle and diming my way through life. I could have really used that cash so that I wasn't forgoing laundry so I could have some change in my diet.

Oh yeah, the meal offer is actually really being extended to you, Tas (because I promised you one back in Thunder Bay), and any other friends in the Greater Toronto Area that want a free meal. How does this weekend sound? Not sure of a place; I visited Crispy Roll already. Tried Jack Astors, but their menu is awful and their food bland. To be completely honest, it's tempting to say let's go all the way!. Although, that would be insane. It's would be more interesting to look for something... different.

EDIT Katie has informed me that the money is my old room deposit from residence. I've got money to burn.

Well the money is your room despoit and mom put it in the bank for you. So yes you are floating in money. *shakes fist*

So you taking me out for dinner? *grins*

OOOOOOOOOH! I forgot about that!

You get dinner if you can get out to Toronto. Now if you'd excuse me, I'm going to price Knight Rider season three. Or MST3K volume 2.

Yeah I figured that.

When do you want me to come to Toronto?

[identity profile] commanderteddog.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Whenever is good for you. ::shrugs::

[identity profile] moonygirl.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok I'll keep that in mind when I'm on reading week.^^

[identity profile] commanderteddog.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yeah. Feel free to pop in any day during reading week in the afternoon. I'm home around 4:30 - 4:45. Call the night before, though.

I want to check out some of the little places either on Bayview or on Eglinton. Maybe not Pickle Barrel, since I'm taking mom out there. Satay on The Road is supposed to be good, if you want to try Malaysian and Thai. Or we can "cruise" on Younge for something.

Buy a bus ticket for Pittsburgh. ::snickers::

[identity profile] commanderteddog.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
I really don't think it's going to work to Pittsburgh, especially if over a weekend. The amount of layover is INSANE. To get from Toronto to Pittsburgh, leaving on a Friday night, will take around 20 hours, over half of that being layover, mostly in Buffalo and Erie. I'd arrive at 5:30 on the Saturday and then have to leave at 8:40 on the Sunday.

I don't want to say it, but it's almost not worth $270 (plus food) for a visit that will last just over 12 hours, most of that being overnight.

[identity profile] slwatson.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Hrm. We'll have to figure something out when there's more time. And when we have some spending money to throw your way for the ticket.

[identity profile] commanderteddog.livejournal.com 2006-02-08 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
It's very tempting to say "Pick me up in Erie". There's a bus that leaves Toronto at 4pm and arrives in Erie at 10:40pm. Hour and a half layover in Buffalo. Heck, I'll pitch in for the gas.

Erie is do-able. Gimme fair warning, though, so I can arrange proper accomodations and that.
