OMGWTF?

I decide I can't sleep, so I try to fire up the laptop to watch a DVD and IT WON'T BOOT. The only thing that'll turn on is the fan.

I didn't toss it around or anything! It just fails after a simple flight. Why do I always seem to get the short end of the stick? I NEED that laptop for homework this week and it decides to be burpy. Time to toss it at Future Shop. :(

What the...? There's no way that it should have broken on the flight, especially since the flight isn't longer than two hours. x_x That's rediculous. I hope you can get it fixed quickly at the FutureShop. >_<;;

Glad your flight was otherwise safe too. ^^ Have fun at Red Green!!

Turns out... I'm not sure what was happening. The hard disk itself wasn't booting, but the system was still seeing it. The Future Shop techie was all "It's a massive hard drive failure and we'll have to sent it to Compaq and it'll be gone up to three weeks". Yeah. Like we HAVE three weeks to spare. Very minute counts this month. Next month, yeah, I have no problem.

Sooo... I decided to go home with my laptop and discovered, surprise surprise, that I had the recovery CD in Hamilton for safe keeping. Tossed in the recovery CD and 40 minutes later I have it running along like nothing ever happened. All the files are there, nothing is missing and everything runs fine. Damned if I know what was wrong.
