On a lesser rant...

For the love of all that's holy, if you have Frantics Times radio shows on LimeWire, could you PLEASE label the files correctly. Give us the generally accepted episode titles or at least an episode number, please?

Poor Keith has made us a logs page, so would it hurt to use it? Think of the children!

On a side note, I'm digging the fact I can find all these radio shows again, tape hiss or no. After Zacks Stack died I gave up hope on getting anything more than the 5 mp3s I had back in 2001. It's a shame that I can't find copies Those People Across the Street episodes. That show was so my father and Terry when Lisa and I were growing up. *fangirl cheer*

Oh... and WTF is with the popularity of the song "Total Eclipse of the Heart" in the dorms? On the shared music folders, everyone has it and during practices for the haunted hike, some of the actors will randomly yell out "Turn around BRIGHT EYYEEEEES!" I know that the music video was insane and all - random ninjas and choir boys and reflective tape - but was it covered recently or something? It's a fairly obscure song on it's own.

You think anyone is going to listen to you? XD

Nope. It would be nice, though. Some of these episodes are really funny, though. You'd probably get a kick out of some of them. :P

CBC HAD RADIO SHOWS IN THE 80'S!?

I miss radio shows, even though I wasn't alive when the private radio show went off the air. I think it was in the early sixties. I mean, sure, having a picture is nice and all, but radio still rocks television, if just for the fact that radio has to rely on the storyline instead of the pretty.

*cough* Anyway. I'll have to check The Frantics out if I see I file then.

The CBC still has radio shows today. It's on strike at the moment (*grrr*), but their big show is Sunday Night Showcase, which is a "radio theatre" type production. According to the website, it's still going on in spite of the strike. You can listen to the signal online, so you might want to check that out.

Most of the Frantics stuff is skit comedy. On Frantic Times, there's some characters that have continuing storylines over the span of several episodes; the most famous are Mr. Canoehead, Todd Booster and Bill from Bala (who is also Bill on the Red Green Show). There's also a few episodes that have a plot stringing together the different skits.

"Those People Across the Street" was the only Frantics spinoff that was close to an actual radio show. It followed the adventures of a teacher and a taxi driver settling into family life in the suburbs. Sorta like a TV sitcom on radio, but with better writing.
