DVDs and BLAH
My uncle and aunt decided to give me a $50 dollar Walmart gift card for Christmas. Do I go out and spent it on things I need? Nope, I pick up cheap DVDs.
I'm starting to believe the FITS test claims that I'll have serious money problems later on in life. The FITS tests hate me. According to them, I'm the worse person on the planet.
Moving along, I got the first Space Ghost: Coast to Coast set and a Raccoons DVD. In relation to my father's comments on how it's hard to market Canadian media, I'm sorta glad that The Raccoons is now getting the DVD treatment. It gives me hope that other series will get released on disk. As cute as it is, The Raccoons is a cult following compared to other 80s series making a comeback, like the Care Bears and My Little Pony. Like a few others, my main hope is that I'll be able to get early TVOntario kids series on DVD. I wants a boxed Read All About It set!
One problem though: The art design on the Raccoons DVDs is just plain ugly and bland. I know that the CBC can do better than that, so I'm blaming Morningstar.
Space Ghost: Coast to Coast reminds me of Prisoners of Gravity, but while PoG was goofy but dealt with some rather serious issues, Space Ghost is just plain silly. It's great stuff to watch after your brain is fired from classes and since Teletoon never picked up the series, I'm glad to have some it.
Next DVD goals: The MST3K boxed #4 and The Stuffed and Mounted Red Green set (or failing that, just Stuffed and Mounted disk 6). Rumour is Rhino is releasing a 5th DVD collection this year. PLEASE include Santa Claus Conquers The Martians.
It's bloody hard to find Red Green DVDs in Hamilton. That seems wrong.
