::flops::

It's been a long, rough week for a lot of people. So, I feel the need to attempt to force some humour into it.

Anyone remember Lost Worlds? Sorta a cross between picture books and a table top role playing system? Here's the Wiki article on it and here's the official website.

Well, back in 2005, Hobby Japan licensed the game and created a spinoff and as of this spring broadcasting season, there's now an anime based on the RPG! Yep, a Lost Worlds anime!

... by now the anime fans reading this have fled in terror because they KNOW what I'm going to post. Uh, such as it is, the final product is not very work safe. Imagine the idea of the plate/chain mail bikini taken to extremes.

That said... LOOK UPON YOUR RPG CHILDHOOD AND DESPAIR.

And here's the official spinoff goods! NOT WORK SAFE!

And here's the upcoming video game spinoff! ALSO NOT WORK SAFE

And remember! Queen's Blade books are now completely compatible with Lost Worlds books! Probably the most work safe link of the bunch.

The anime itself, uh... well, it opens with our hero being attack by a bunny girl. Said bunny girl has acidic breast milk that dissolves clothing. This is in the first five minutes. I think that's enough to make a judgement call on it.

Ick.

Yeah, that was my thought. The series is the butt of many jokes now, because the whole thing is pandering so hard to fetish fans that it's not funny. That and... misogynistic, MUCH?

(Edit - not to say you're misogynistic. I mean that the whole game book series is completely misogynistic in the worst possible way. Ugh, I'm running on little sleep)

The worst part about it is that I liked some of the concepts, but everything is just... well, as [livejournal.com profile] slwatson said, Ick.

Though I have noted down the titles and I'm mentally drawing their clothes, because an outfit made of snakes is too cool to pass up. Though the outfit on Menace isn't terribly off from what Ancient Egyptians wore...

LMAO! We've been friends for how long? I don't think I'm worried you think I'm misogynistic.

I've been finding as I move into anime/manga interests that share demographics which adult male geeks that many of the concepts are interesting, but there's a massive "ICK!" factor that comes up a lot. I think a classic example is Strike Witches, which has Earth under attack by an alien force that's actually quite frightening and could be the core for a compelling storyline. Instead, its main focus is about pantless teenagers with animal ears and tails.

Menace is probably one of the better looking of the bunch because it's probably the closest to reality... as close as this can get, although I'd imagine that the chest piece would become painful after bouncing for a while. That and it seem to only exist for the glory of the under-boob shot.

::chuckles:: I know, but I reread the post and felt like I was coming across as an ass. D:

So that's what softcore hentai looks like. Fascinating. Who knew it would become so mainstream?

Anyway, yeah, that's pretty lurid and childish, particularly as an adaptation from a concept that originally had nothing to do with naked boobs and crotch shots. Absolutely fascinating. A few cool costume ideas, but highly impractical (and that's without mentioning the anatomy. Only one of those girls had less than a D cup, and they went to the opposite end of the scale and gave her As... or would you say they were Bs? Anyway, ridiculous. Looks like they were designed by a teen-aged man-child).

I guess it's a good thing I work from home, eh? My boss never calls me into the office for looking at porn.

I'd say that the flat-chested one is probably leaning more towards an A cup, but only because she's clearly there for the lolicon fans. So, she's supposed to have a flat chest. They'll grow in in time.

Good point. Gotta cover the pedophile market as well. Silly me for forgetting that.

What's that snake doing there?

I think we're all asking ourselves that question.
