More Ace Attorney!
I pity the fool who doesn't follow this series. Here's a 1990s kick for you, and I KNOW there's some old school LucasArts fans lurking around here.
Capcom announces "Turnabout Prosecutor"!
This is a spinoff of the main series and is set before the main part of the Phoenix Wright arc but also after the early cases in the last game of the arc (which has some timeline jumping due to the nature of the storyline).
Why do I mention a connection to LucasArts games? The writing in Ace Attorney is comparable to the late, great LucasArts adventure games. When the series first game over, the writing was compared to Day of the Tentacle. The big difference was the gameplay - Ace Attorney up until this point is closer to a visual novel (like a Japanese dating sim) than a point-and-click adventure came.
This spinoff, though, is point-and-click. So, it's like a SCUMM game.
The series is a mix of crime drama, comedy, science fiction and supernatural. Because this is based around Edgeworth (the guy in the purple suit), who's sorta a skeptic in the main series, it'll probably lean away from the supernatural and more towards science fiction; the game is set in a future that is very much like the present day, but the justice system was redesigned after the old one became overloaded and almost collapsed. The system in the games is a bit more brutal, with many cases ending in the death penalty in order to take the stress off jails and trials being kept very short to help with turnaround time.
And don't worry about the colour of the suit or anything fandom based that you see related to Edgeworth. This character is a badass in the games.
If this comes out in North America and you have a DS, please, please buy into this. I don't know about you, but I would KILL to see games like this take off on the system.
