AAH! WANTS! But not!

Higurashi for the DS! If this was in ENGLISH, I would be all over it. In fact, this is probably the best chance this game ever has of coming to North America, given that the DS market lends itself more to media like this.
Except.... uh...
The plot of Higurashi is supposed to almost always be like dark dating sim parody on the surface. In the original, there's 8 arcs, which are actually 4 pairs of arc-based storylines.
In each pair, one arc is the set up for the mystery and the other is the answer. There are 4 main characters who need to be understood to get the full story of why 1983 keeps repeating - Rena, Mion, Satako and Rika. Ergo, 8 arcs.
It got expanded to 9 for the PS2 release because the original ending arc got dumped for a new one. The original ending is the "good" ending of the series and the new one is the "true" ending, which forces the characters to return to the events of the bad arcs and live through them the second time around.
Okay. That I can live with.
The extra games, like Dice Killing and Daybreak? They're goofy one-offs. Can live with that too.
The TV series? Fun! The movie? I think it's fusing the Rena arcs into one big storyline. I'm going to be ignoring that since it's a spinoff, might watch for MiSTing. Looks goofy.
But, for the DS version... WHY IS IT NOW 16 ARCS? WHO ARE THOSE NEW CHARACTERS?
The story is done. We know why 1983 is important and which of the characters appear random but play a large role.
Why is it being cloned? More money? ... yeah, probably.
I kinda want a copy of the music at the end.
