Phoenix Wright?
I FINALLY HAVE IT! Picked it up yesterday.
Case one starts with the timeline jumping that was promised - Mia's second case.
- We learn where Mia's obession with client trust comes from; it actually the result of the trial with Phoenix. Kinda funny, since she would later pass this down to Phoenix when he became a lawyer.
- I've heard this case being used as prove of a Mia/Phoenix relationship, but I don't think that's the case. Mia is reacting to Phoenix breaking the trust she was trying to set up and she's reacting physically because of stress (as can be seen before the trial, when she grabs hold of people while talking with them). Also, we don't really know how powerful Mia is in terms of her spiritual powers. She might be able to pick something up about how close Phoenix and she will eventually get in terms of a business relationship. This, though, is doubtful and doesn't have much canon basis.
- There's setup for the backstory with Diego. Sadly, we don't get to learn that much other than Dahlia is tightly tied to it, despite the lack of evidence.
It feels cut off!
On the second case now, which feels more like it's going to be the "fluff" case of the game, like Turnabout Samurai and Turnabout Big Top - some plotpoints in the background, but otherwise mostly played for laughs. Given that they're getting it out of the way now, I imagine that the last 3 cases are going to be much heavier in terms of the story arc.
