Sick and kinda poor...

Okay, so I bucked and gave into the season 8 of Red Green. No idea where my "cutoff" is going to be with that series. I also doubt that this one will include the Christmas special, giving me little hope that some of the more recent of the holiday specials are coming to DVD. It also looks like Shout's cartoon DVDs are slowly crawling into Canada. They used to be on 4-6 weeks with Amazon, but now are 24 hours.

I have a headcold AGAIN. I hate this. All I can think about is "I really need a nap. Rachie want sleepies." I'm seriously trying to catch catnaps in my chair. It's going okay, but then I wake and are dazed because I'm in the office. That and it looks kinda odd. bit it's either that or have me home for the day. I think they'd rather have me here.

Though, stuffed up nose means everything is going to taste like foam. Go-Go gyros... but not today. Want sleep....

Small (or not) rant:

Okay. So I have done a few things for the Red Green fandom online. However, I haven't done much. So. Why is it that I have some fans asking... no... demanding that I create a Red Green fansite to be a partner to Signal Loss.

WTF?

Signal Loss was a freak case of me being very bored and building a little site, only to have it go a little out of control. It has also existed for SIX YEARS. I cannot magically crap out a complete Red Green site in no time flat.

Using "You need a Red Green site to go with your PoG one" is a lame excuse. For one, Rick Green has said that both shows are seperate for each other and they weren't even intended to have the same audience. Second, the claims of it being the same universe are the result of people reading too far into it. Yes, Enrico and Red orignally came from the same show but and yes, there's a tiny and very old joke in the fandom about Rick and Bill being related, but there's no direct crossover. By the same logic, PoG takes place in the same universe as Hee-Haw. The Red Green Show is not a PoG spinoff. It's a spinoff of Smith and Smith with elements from Frantic Times and various stand up acts. This isn't going to change.

Heaven help you if you found IP&S stuff and assumed that it was a serious look at how the two canons can co-exist. I would also be baffled that you missed the word "multiverse" and the elements from a billion other shows, comics, books, etc!

I have thought of building a Red Green page and have collected research, lots of images, even recovered lost bits of fan created skits and songs. Yet, I can't bring myself to build the darn thing.

Signal Loss was created because there was almost nothing online for PoG and because I had more questions about the series than answers. And so, a stupid little 17-year old went on a little quest to uncover anything and everything that she could find. Yet, I still don't have my PoG t-shirt. Aw, nuts. With Red Green, it's more a case that there's so much out there and not many people have sorted out all of the parts yet.

It's a big fandom. I want to help with the gathering of the parts, but I don't want to take the credit for completely sorting them. Some one else should have the glory.

And that is why I haven't built a Red Green fansite.
