More proof that we are dorks!
Does anyone want to see Scott McCloud at the UofT this weekend? Everyone either is too busy or has no interest and I feel silly going to a lecture like this by myself for some reason.
The lecture called "Understanding, Reinventing, and Making Comics" and is this Sunday at 7pm. :(
Okay, so Kate and I are massive, massive dorks. This is a proven fact of some such, however we like to push our dorkiness in stupid ways.
So, I'm on WoW and handing in a rep quest for the Lower City in Shattrath when I dash past the Battlemasters. The Battlemasters are NPCs in the game are used to join the different PVP Battlegrounds (Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Alterac Valley and Eye of the Storm). Mostly they're kinda boring, but it Shattrath, things are different. Sorta. The Alliance Battlemaster for Arathi there is "Adam Eternum", who's with his cat "Battle-Tiger" and sorta friend "Oric Coe". Yes, very clear He-Man references.
I just noticed yesterday that you can try to "talk" to them. With Battle-Tiger, a text box pops up saying that the character is silly enough as is, so it talking would be too much. With Oric, it tells you not to encourage him. With Adam himself, he goes into a discussion about how he came to find weapons to save his people, but all he found was a "smashing loincloth" and an undead who insisted that Adam had his "missing gray skull".
Because of how outlandishly (no pup intended) goofy this was, I mentioned it to Kate, to which Kate replied "Skeletor! Okay, we NEED to find him!"
Unfortunately, the game is a very big place and I didn't want to run around all night looking for Skeletor, as awesome as it would be. I thought about this for a quick moment and ran over to the Battlemasters for the Horde side. The name of the Horde Arathi Basin Battlemaster?
Keldor the Lost. Look it up. We laughed for about 20 minutes.
This is very old news, but I feel so silly that I never noticed Keldor before.
This odd discovery makes me wonder if we can find She-Ra in the game too.
I also want to finish Blackrock Depths to hear Thaurissan quote Army of Darkness... or ANY quotes at all. What is it with high end Azeorth instances and their complete lack of voice overs for bosses? Those voice overs are really funny. I still laugh at a lot of them :D But, when you get to Scholo and BRD, there's like.... NOTHING. Darkmaster Gandling's "SCHOOL IS IN SESSION!", which was a "Yell" in the chat window, didn't even get one.
Heard this was changing, though, in the next patch. Or are they only fixing the Outland ones?
