Urban decay in Japan.
Urban decay, in general, completely fascinates me. Mmmm... anbandoned malls. Appartently, a lot of these "modern ruins" were the result of Japan's market bottoming out in the 1990s. Whole resorts and high rises were just left standing.
The strange thing is that it looks like very little looting has occured in several of these places. As Tas put it, it's like everyone was driven off by some curse.
